Game Description

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon drops players into the combat boots of one-man army and Mark IV cyber-commando Sergeant Rex "Power" Colt. Years after a horrific global conflict and the aftermath nuclear fallout, the last remnants of humanity fight against rogue elements vying for control. Rex is deployed to the remote island to neutralize his former commanding officer, Colonel Sloan-an operative who has gone rogue and threatens global stability with his bio-engineered army.

It never takes itself seriously, and that's where all the charm is. From sarcastic remarks by the main character to enemy design, which is just utterly absurd, this neon palette screams over-the-top delights. Yet, in its tongue-in-cheek approach, the gameplay is robust at the core with stealth, exploration, chaotic firefighting.

Game Overview

At its core, Blood Dragon takes the base mechanics of Far Cry 3 and seamlessly combines open-world exploration, tactical stealth, and high-octane action. Because it's sci-fi dystopian, though, it departs from the tropical realism of its forebear.

The gameworld is an island bathed in neon lights, synthwave tracks, and glowing environments, filled with cyborg enemies, mutant animals, and last but not least, the titular Blood Dragons. Huge, glowing creatures, they can sometimes be as much enemies as they are allies; it completely depends on how you will present yourself before them. The world feels alive, pulsating with synthwave tracks, glowing environments, and a sense of constant danger.

It's campy, purposefully so, with hyper bullicious dialogue, cutscenes straight from 16-bit arcade games, and references to 80s action movies and video games galore. The story is short and sweet, clocking in at around 5-8 hours, which really depends on how much the player decides to explore and if they are a completionist.
